Amusing Photo

I was in Minneapolis and flying Northwest airlines to San Francisco with a connection through Seattle. I was waiting in line at the gate to talk to the airline rep. And behind her is this large screen displaying flight information...which looks pretty nice and doesn't show any hints of any OS platform. But suddenly it was clear what platform it runs on when the dreaded Application Error dialog appeared. I pointed it out to them and they clicked on OK, but it kept coming back.

They don't run XP in the cockpit do they?

Hrm, running Windows *and* telnet. What a great combination, you know, like tequila and handguns.

I'd be happier if they ran XP in the cockpit than what appears to be 95/98 on their screens.

I was at a Shell gas station in San Francisco the other day. They have monitors above each pump (built into the pump) that expose you to all sorts of ads and inducements.

The one I was standing at was on the Blue Screen of Death. All I could think is "What the frack would anyone run a full blown windows machine just to display ads at the pump?" It's just asking for trouble, IMHO.

I was at an AMC theater in Miami waiting in a ridiculously slow line to buy tickets from a bank of automated machines. The culprit? Half the machines had crashed, displaying a Windows error message.

I was in the E.R. and my Dad's heart monitor displayed an error message. You got it! BSOD!

Funny thing...

I saw the same exact Windows error message this past sunday (9/23) at a Delta gate in Atlanta (ATL).
